While I’m a vocal supporter of long, luxurious bubble baths, they aren’t always the most practical option. While many of us would love to be able to spend hours relaxing in the tub doing DIY spa treatments, we don’t normally have that kind of leisure time!

But luckily for us, there are many skin treatments you can use to keep your skin soft and moisturized that don’t require a leisurely soak in the tub! In fact, there are many you can fit into your normal shower routine (or even into your speedy shower routine after hitting the snooze button one too many times!)

In order to demonstrate my point, today I have 7 easy skin treatments to share with you! All of them are totally doable during your morning or evening shower, so there’s really no reason not to treat your skin to a mini spa treatment! :-)

7 Easy Skin Treatments You Can Do In The Shower

1. Soothe Irritation

Skin feeling itchy, irritated, or a bit sunburnt? Just add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil to your normal amount of your own natural body wash and soap up!

The lavender oil will soothe away irritation and leave your skin feeling soft and clean. (For a tingly, refreshing experience, use a drop of peppermint oil instead!)

2. Smoother Shave

With just a few simple ingredients, you can whip up an exfoliating scrub that’s perfect for pre- or post-shave (or both!) Combine 1 1/4 cups sugar, 1/2 cup of carrier oil (like fractionated coconut oil), and 20 drops of lemon essential oil.

Use the mixture to scrub your legs before shaving for super smooth results. You can also use it after shaving to help prevent ingrown hairs!

3. Fight Fungus

Yellow toenails can point to a fungal infection, but applying anti-fungal tea tree oil can help fight it! All you have to do is apply one drop of tea tree essential oil to the affected nail while you’re in the shower.

Keep your feet away from the running water for a minute or two, then rinse your toes and feet well.

4. Soapy Scrub

Streamline your shower routine by making your own sugar scrub bars. They’re quick and easy to make, and offer the benefits of both a bar of soap and a body scrub in one!

5. Moisturizing Scrub

Keep a jar of Epsom salt and a bottle of your favorite carrier oil in your bathroom, and you’ll always be prepared to scrub away dry skin. Just add a teaspoon or two of carrier oil to a small handful of Epsom salt and scrub!

This makes the perfect quick and easy treatment for dry heels, knees, elbows, or any area of your skin that dries out easily.

6. Banish Dryness

Speaking of dry skin, sometimes you need something extra moisturizing to help restore your skin to its normal softness. In these cases, it pays to keep a bottle of in-shower moisturizing lotion on hand!

This super-concentrated lotion is designed to be applied in the shower while your skin is still a bit damp. Give it a try for yourself, and by the time you’re out of the shower and ready to go, your skin will feel perfectly soft and moisturized!

7. Fight Acne

Keep acne at bay while you shower with the help of tea tree oil! Just add a couple of drops of tea tree oil right into the bottle of your favorite cleanser and use as you normally would.

You can use this tip outside of the shower as well, but a steamy shower helps open your pores for a deeper clean than you might achieve normally!
