While Pregnant or Breastfeeding

The only blend in our shop that is safe for topical or aromatic use during pregnancy, when properly diluted, is Freshly Washed. Our single oils — lavender, lemon, and sweet orange — are also considered safe when properly diluted. All other blends contain oils that should be avoided while pregnant and breastfeeding.

Even for oils that are generally considered safe, always consult your doctor before using essential oils during pregnancy, do not use them during your first trimester, and never ingest essential oils.

If you choose to apply oils to your skin, dilute them properly with a carrier oil such as coconut, almond, or olive oil. A 1% dilution is recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding (about 2 drops of essential oil in a 10 ml roll-on bottle, filled the rest of the way with carrier oil).
